Camino de Santiago. Questions about the video.

These questions are to be answered after watching the video.

1) What is the Camino de Santiago?
It is an important prilgrimage route that starts in France, crosses the north of the Peninsula and ends in Santiago de Compostela. The pilgrims arrive in Santiago for worshiping (adorar) the tomb of Santiago.

2) What was the role of monks and nums?
Because they helped pilgrims by puting them up (alojándolos) in the monasteries, they fixed and took care of bridges, ways, etc.

3) How do you understand that Almanzor carried Cathedral´s bells from Santiago to Cordoba?
Bells symbolized the Churh and Christians, and stealing (robando) and carrying them to Cordoba was a way of demonstrating the superiority of Muslims.

4) Why is the Way of Saint James an important cultural route?
It is one of the most important cultural ways  because it receives pilgrims from anywhere of the world.
